The evolution was they went from the water they grew legs and are now on land.

They got leathery skin, they were able to still be in water, but also go away from the water.

Reptile to birds, they grew wings and feathers, they grew beaks and changed internally.

They have a digestive system, skin, weather leathery and/or moist.
