Multicellular:

The first evolutionary step leading to the Kingdom of Plantae.

Volvox is a step toward the multicellular life.

Terrestrial:

The first terrestrial plant was moss.   Because moss has no vascular tissue.  Important information, moss must live in areas that are damp and shady.

Vascular System:

The next evolutionary step was a vascular system.   This means, it is true roots and stems.  Vascular tissues are xylem and phloem, which is part of the vascular system.

Seeds:

The next evolutionary step was seeds.   Seeds are multicellular and has three distinct tissues, which are seed coat, embro, and endo sperm.  The first plant that had seeds was Gingko Biloba.

Fruits:

After seeds, the next evolutionary step was fruit.

A seed is within a fruit.

Flowers:

At the same time as fruit, flowers came. Angior sperm produce flowers.   Flowers attract pollinators such as bees, bats, butterflies, etc..   Then the pollinators spread around the polland, that starts the steps.
