A fish has one sex. A male contains sperm while a female contains of eggs. they then exit out of the Urogenital opening on a fish, While some fish start there sexual reproduction externally like the Bony fish (Osteichthyes) and Jaw-less fish (Agnatha). Fish that are Cartilaginous fish (Chondrichthyes) are internal during the reproductive process. They later give birth to live young.

Bony fish and Jaw-less fish go through Oviparity which is when a females lays their eggs and a males fertilize them by releasing sperm in the water.
